Cherry Bomb Comics was formed to provide an alternative to the mainstream world of comics: to celebrate and support comics made by women, and provide a place for people to discover stories that reflect themselves - as women, as gay, lesbian or queer, as non-white, subversive and otherwise outside of the comic book status quo.
Cherry Bomb supports small press and the ethos of DIY. Although we have a healthy dose of hot graphic novel imports, our main focus is on local and self-published material - zines, comics, art books, pamphlets and postcards.
We ran a shop-space and library out of our New North Rd (Auckland) premises from July 2004 - November 2007 but finally succumbed to the brutality of the real world and fell into the safe hands of the internet... So now you can find us here, online, and we also do stalls at various events around town, upcoming ones will be listed on the events page or email us (info[AT]cherrybombcomics.co.nz) and we'll put you on our mailing list.
